New York, NY | June 26, 2025 – Ariel Partners is proud to announce the award of a contract with the New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS) to supply Atlassian platform licenses and professional services in support of the Department’s enterprise IT operations.
The New York State Department of Financial Services is one of the most consequential regulatory agencies in the United States. It oversees more than 1,500 banking and financial institutions and approximately 1,400 insurance companies, collectively holding over $74 trillion in assets. The Department was established in 2011 through the consolidation of the former Banking and Insurance Departments, and it has since expanded its mandate to include cybersecurity regulation, consumer protection, and the oversight of virtual currency operators under its landmark BitLicense framework.
Under this contract, Ariel Partners will provide up to 400 licenses each of four Atlassian products currently in active use across multiple DFS business units: Atlassian Guard Standard, which provides centralized security and single sign-on controls; Confluence Standard, the Department’s collaboration and knowledge management platform; Jira Software Premium, used for project tracking and team workflow management; and Jira Service Management Premium, which supports the Department’s IT service delivery operations. The contract also includes 1,500 hours of professional services to support implementation of enhancements to the Department’s existing Jira environment.
